Good morning! Apologies this is a little later than usual — the majority of my weekend was taken up with podcast recording and editing. We’ve got a beast of an episode coming up for you later today.

Christmas is coming! Hopefully for plenty of you that means plenty of games (or gift cards with which games can be acquired) beneath the Christmas tree, or perhaps even some nice new hardware on which to play them. I recommend a Switch if you don’t already have one.

But before we get there, of course, let’s have a look at what you might have missed over the course of the last week!

Christmas is once again creeping up on us, but thankfully thanks to the magic of online shopping, I’m already done with buying presents.

That, of course, means plenty of time for enjoying a variety of wonderful games, and celebrating many of the delightful experiences I’ve had over the last year. That is the thinking behind The MoeGamer 2019 Awardsthe third year in which I’ve thought up a variety of “alternative awards” (in collaboration with the community) to celebrate the things I’ve played and/or covered in the last year.

And, because I wanted to both play it and write about it, we’re interspersing the awards with a look at Pokémon Sword and Shield. Lots to be getting on with, so let’s check out what you might have missed this week.

Hello everyone, hope you’ve been having a good weekend. Mine has been fairly uneventful so far, which I guess is a good thing.

It’s officially December now, so you’re all allowed to put your Christmas decorations up. The MoeGamer Awards will be starting shortly alongside the Pokémon Sword and Shield feature, so please be sure to stop by this post and leave some ideas for award categories if you haven’t already. The more the merrier!

Anyway, let’s check out what you might have missed this week.

Hello everyone! It’s nearly the end of November; hard to imagine that we’re nearly in to a new decade already, isn’t it?

Still, keep tackling things one week at a time and we’ll get there eventually. As much as it feels like we might not want to sometimes. Remember, as bleak and shitty as the world might be, there are always video games, anime, manga, music and all manner of other wonderful forms of art and creative expression to escape into when it all gets a bit much.

And if you’re in the mood for a bit of escapism right now, why not delve into what you might have missed in the last week or so? Let’s take a look.

#ThankYouPatrons – A Message of Gratitude

I posted this quite late last night, so although it’s technically a day late I’d like to share something important.

Yesterday was #ThankYouPatrons day on Patreon, and creators from all over the world have been sharing messages of gratitude for the people who support them — whether it’s generous contributors on Patreon or similar services, or those who help out in other ways, such as leaving likes and comments, following on blog pages and social media, subscribing on YouTube and all that good stuff.

I love doing this, and every day I am filled with gratitude that other people enjoy and appreciate what I do, too. So hopefully that comes across in this message to you all.

If you’d like to support my work, please do stop by Patreon to find out more, and get access to exclusive daily blog posts, weekly vlogs and monthly wallpapers. You can find my Patreon page at https://patreon.com/petedavison.

Good evening! Another week draws to a close, we’re a week closer to Christmas and Pokémon is out! Truly, the festive season begins here. Probably.

We’ve got one more week to run on our current feature exploring Shade’s games Bullet Girls Phantasia and Gun Gun Pixies, and then I will likely continue to explore the former’s substantial postgame in an upcoming (possibly irregular) video series, so please look forward to that. From there, we’re looking forward to a bit of Pokémon funtimes, plus the now-traditional MoeGamer Awards for December.

Before we get to all that, though, let’s see what you might have missed this week.

I Want Your Help With the MoeGamer 2019 Awards!

For the last couple of years, I’ve devoted December to a series of “alternative awards” based on things I’ve experienced and written about over the course of the last year.

The MoeGamer Awards provides both me and you with an opportunity to review what we’ve seen in the last year here on MoeGamer, to revisit some things that I feel are worth looking at again, and to highlight some things that I don’t feel got enough attention first time around.

A big part of the fun of this event is getting suggestions from you lot as to what I should write about, so I am once again soliciting suggestions from you, yes, you, dear reader. Hit the jump to find out more!

Hello everyone! It’s the end of another week, and time for a roundup of what’s been going on.

I’m really enjoying Bullet Girls Phantasia, and as I’ve previously noted it looks like there’s a lot more to it than I initially anticipated. What I might do is finish the main story in order to write about it, then continue to explore it in a resurrected New Game Plus video series, because I kinda want to keep going with it!

Anyway. That’s a discussion for another day. For now, let’s check out what you might have missed recently…

Good morning! Apologies this is a day late, but I got distracted making a bunch of videos and then playing Freedom Planet until midnight last night.

Freedom Planet is amazing if you’ve never experienced it before. I’ll do a full writeup this week, but suffice to say that… yeah. It’s amazing. I’ve known this for a long time, but I’d been holding off playing it all the way through until I got a packaged release of it, which I now do thanks to Limited Run Games.

But anyway. That’s a story for later. For now, let’s take a look back on what you might have missed in the last week…
