Hello friends, and welcome to another installment of The MoeGamer Podcast!
After our fairly serious discussion last week, Chris and I decided we wanted to keep things reasonably bright and breezy this week, so it’s a mostly retro-themed episode as we reminisce about our memories of classic Konami.
Hit the jump for the new episode in video and audio format, and don’t forget you can subscribe on YouTube for all my videos (including Atari A to Z as well as MoeGamer content) or on Soundcloud for the audio-only version of the podcast. You can also get the audio-only version via iTunes or RSS. I’m good to you, I am.
We follow our usual three-part format as always, beginning with a look at the news that has unfolded over the past few weeks. It’s been relatively quiet during the post-TGS slump, but there’s still plenty of stuff to talk about, including several release dates, the surprise release of Evenicle uncut on Steam, what Too Kyo Games is up to with their “children’s death game”, and of course Sony vs Senran Kagura shenanigans.
In our second segment, we talk about what we’ve been playing recently. Chris waxes lyrical about Undertale (sans spoilers, no pun intended) and Mega Man 11, while I talk a bit about Xenon Valkyrie+ for PS4, Lucy Got Problems for PC and, of course, this month’s Cover Game series, Project Zero.
Then finally our main discussion is on classic Konami. I went into this episode not sure I had any particularly strong attachments to Konami… but it turns out a lot of my favourite games from over the years hail from this somewhat fallen-from-grace publisher, often without me realising or remembering!
As always, thanks for watching and/or listening; please do help out the podcast on YouTube and/or Soundcloud by subscribing, liking, commenting and all that good stuff. It really helps!
