In the news this time around, we’ve got a selection of interesting tidbits, including the formation of a new studio from several veterans of the Japanese gaming industry. Hopefully going independent will work out a lot better for them than life under Sony, what with Sony pretty much being an American company at this point. Here’s hoping for a spiritual successor to Gravity Rush.

Chris and I have been playing a decent selection of games, though the Evercade has been featuring heavily in both our gaming lives. Chris has been spending some time with Xeno Crisis, while I’ve been playing Atelier Ayesha and the two Evercade Atari Lynx collections. Watch out for writeups on all those soon.

Our main discussion this time around is to celebrate the year that was 2020. While it may have been hell on earth in the “real world”, it’s been a great year for gaming, whatever you’re into — and you’ll never guess what Chris’ Game of the Year is. Both Chris and I have had some great experiences in a variety of different ways over the course of the last twelve months — how about you?
