Welcome to another podcast! I’m joined once again by the newly rebranded Chris Caskie of CCaskieArt, and today we’re talking arcade racers.
The MoeGamer Podcast is available in several places. You can subscribe to my channel on YouTube to stay up to date with both the video versions of the podcast and my weekly videos (including the Atari A to Z retro gaming series); you can follow on Soundcloud for the audio-only version of the podcast; you can subscribe via RSS to get the audio-only version of the podcast in your favourite podcast app; or you can subscribe via iTunes and listen on Spotify. Please do at least one of these if you can; it really helps us out!

In this episode’s news, there’s a real grab bag of things to talk about, since it’s been a while since we’ve been able to get together. We’ve got everything from Space Invaders to the latest Final Fantasy game to chat about, plus some stern words for Ubisoft.
In our second segment, we talk about what we’ve been playing lately. This time around, Chris has been playing Nexomon Extinction, the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle and Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning, while Pete has thoughts on two very different dungeon crawlers: Moero Crystal H and Undead Darlings, both of which you can expect substantial writeups about here on MoeGamer in the near future.
Finally, our main topic for the episode is 3D arcade racers, inspired by the recent release of Inertial Drift. Rather than a comprehensive historical breakdown, we instead simply explore a variety of favourite games from over the years — including a few recent discoveries. And, of course, Pete takes the opportunity to extoll the virtues of Blur and Split/Second — and bemoan a games industry that would shutter their respective developers!
