Cheer up everybody! Banish those lockdown blues for a couple of hours with a brand new episode of The MoeGamer Podcast, featuring my good self and Chris Caskie of MrGilderPixels!
The MoeGamer Podcast is available in several places. You can subscribe to my channel on YouTube to stay up to date with both the video versions of the podcast and my weekly videos (including the Atari A to Z retro gaming series); you can follow on Soundcloud for the audio-only version of the podcast; you can subscribe via RSS to get the audio-only version of the podcast in your favourite podcast app; or you can subscribe via iTunes and listen on Spotify. Please do at least one of these if you can; it really helps us out!
Or you can just hit the jump to watch or listen to today’s episode right here on MoeGamer.
In today’s show, we kick off with the usual discussion of the recent happenings in the games biz — though naturally with the whole “pandemic” thing (boy, this is going to be weird to look back on, huh) literally everything is subject to change to a certain degree. We cover Datawest’s return to the industry, Them’s Fighting Herds, Reggie x Gamestop and more, including the most important gaming story of recent memory: a sequel to 42 All-Time Classics.
Next up, we chat a bit about what we’ve both been playing recently. Chris has been getting stuck into Level-5’s Snack World: The Dungeon Crawl Gold, while I talk a bit about Dead or School, SeaBed and Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny.
After that, we launch into the day’s main discussion: an in-depth exploration of the twelve games that make up the Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha and Bravo collections on Nintendo Switch, which I’ve also been covering here on MoeGamer recently. There’s a lot to love about these shoot ’em ups from the genre’s golden age, and it’s been a pleasure to discover them for the first time recently.
As always, thanks for watching and/or listening — and if you have a moment to leave a review on iTunes and/or Spotify, that would really help us out.
