The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 21 – Profound Carnage

It’s another MoeGamer Podcast, featuring my good self and the equally excellent Mr Chris Caskie of MrGilderPixels.

The MoeGamer Podcast is available in several places. You can subscribe to my channel on YouTube to stay up to date with both the video versions of the podcast and my weekly videos (including the Atari A to Z retro gaming series); you can follow on Soundcloud for the audio-only version of the podcast; you can subscribe via RSS to get the audio-only version of the podcast in your favourite podcast app; or you can subscribe via iTunes. Please do at least one of these if you can; it really helps us out!

Or you can hit the jump to watch or listen to today’s episode right here on MoeGamer.

We kick off this episode, as always, with a look at the recent happenings in gaming news that have caught our attention. The most exciting thing for both of us recently is the announcement and confirmation of two new Persona 5 games: Persona 5 The Royal for PS4, an expanded version of the original game, and Persona 5 Scramble for PS4 and Switch, an Omega Force-developed action RPG. Persona Musou!

We follow up with a discussion of what we’ve been playing recently, which you’ll already know if you’ve been paying attention around here of late, and then move onto our main topic for the day.

Today, we wanted to talk about gory games. Specifically, gory games that are fun. Games that make use of gore to entertain and amuse rather than horrify — although we get into that side of things a bit, too. Turns out there’s been a whole lot of blood and gore over the years, and much of it has left an impact on the pair of us… just perhaps not quite in the way the tabloids would like you to believe!

Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed this article. I’ve been writing about games in one form or another since the days of the old Atari computers, with work published in Page 6/New Atari User, PC Zone, the UK Official Nintendo Magazine, GamePro, IGN, USgamer, Glixel and more over the years, and I love what I do.
