I’m officially on holiday! Well, from the day job, anyway. That means you can expect lots of fun things around here and over on YouTube over the course of the next couple of weeks and beyond. Hoorah!

I hope you’ve had a pleasant week. Spring has sprung here, so the weather’s a bit nicer, the days are a bit brighter and the overall “mood” of things seems to have lifted somewhat; blessed relief after a rather bleak-feeling winter, to be sure.

To cheer you up further, let’s check out what you might have missed this week!

Hello there everyone! It’s the end of another week, and Monday is looming. Boo, hiss. But after this week I have two weeks off from the day job, yaaaay!

The time off is something of a “staycation” while my wife goes off gallivanting to sunny Nottingham with her Final Fantasy XIV friends, so there will be plenty happening around here and over on YouTube during those weeks. I’m looking forward to getting well ahead of schedule on video series and having plenty of time to prep for all manner of written features on here.

Plus… I have a very special announcement, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what that is. Oooh, teaser. Anyway, let’s see what you might have missed this week.

And so another week draws to a close and we all slide inexorably onwards towards our inevitable deaths.

We may as well enjoy the intervening days, weeks, months and years then! This month I’ve been doing just that with a fine selection of SNK shoot ’em ups plus my continuing adventures in the world of Death end re;Quest.

Let’s take a look at what you might have missed.

A late one today, as I’ve been busy recording videos for most of the weekend!

I like to try and get stuff done “ahead of time” with regard to video, as it takes time to edit, render and upload, so with a free weekend I thought I’d try and “pre-record” as many Atari A to Z and MoeGamerTV videos as I possibly could. I didn’t quite achieve everything I wanted to, but I did pretty well.

Anyway. That aside, you might have missed all sorts of goodness this week. Let’s check out what that included!

Good weekend, friends! It’s time once again for that weekly review of what’s been going on here on MoeGamer and elsewhere around my little network.

You almost didn’t get anything out of me today because I’ve had a string of computer disasters today — the USB ports in the front of my PC’s case have broken, my old hard drive (which apparently held the Windows Boot Manager) died completely, preventing Windows from booting even from another drive, and even the god-damn power button on the case snapped its clips and became unusable. All these issues have since been resolved through varying degrees of creativity, meaning I have a working (if somewhat jury-rigged) computer once again — and hopefully there will be a Sunday Driving video for you to enjoy later in the evening.

But enough of my woes. Let’s see what you might have missed this week…

Well, we come to the end of another week, and a monumentally unexciting one at that.

Having endured the pre-Christmas doldrums, it’s now time to get suitably discontent in the run-up to February, which my family has long regarded as the most depressing month in the whole year for some unscientific, almost certainly superstitious reason.

Still, at least there are some cool games on the way… and the things I’ve been covering here on MoeGamer have been making me happy, so… well, there’s that! Hit the jump to see what you might have missed this week.

Everyone back to work now? Me too. Booooo.

Still, that means getting back on a normal schedule again, and it also means the beginning of a new year of Cover Game features, kicking off with the Atelier Arland series starting this month. From there… well, there’s a whole bunch of stuff I’m excited about covering in the near future!

There are also developments in the world of Atari A to Z, and I’ll be getting the ball rolling on Videopac Games again this week now that I’m in a good “rhythm” again. But for now, hit the jump to see what you might have missed!

Hello! It’s nearly Christmas!

Yes, that most wonderful (and/or stressful, and/or depressing, depending on your own personal life situation) time of the year is just around the corner, many of you reading this will have broken up from work or school, and there’s just a general air of anticipation in the… um… air.

I’ll be taking a brief break from MoeGamer on Monday and Tuesday to enjoy the festivities, but will be back with the rest of the MoeGamer Awards from Wednesday onwards. In the meantime, hit the jump to see what you might have missed this week.

Blogwarming Party!

Hi everyone, just a quickie for a now — a full article is coming later today, but I wanted to bring this up while it was fresh in my mind!

MoeGamer has kind of stood by itself for a while as I wanted it to be a self-contained site that people could refer to in order to find out information on Japanese games and visual novels. Indeed, that’s not going to change at all — the All Games page is growing on pretty much a daily basis and you’ll hopefully have noticed I have been very good about creating new Hub Pages for games as and when I bring them up!

However, just recently I’ve been making a bit more of an effort to engage with the broader WordPress community and have encountered some thoroughly lovely people, one of whom is Irina from the wonderfully titled I Drink and Watch Anime, a blog about, among other things, anime and drinking games you can play while enjoying it. Well, obviously.

Grisaia’s totally an anime that you could drink and watch. But you should really play the visual novels instead. You may need a full case of booze, though.

I bring up Irina and her blog specifically because she’s making efforts to help newer anime bloggers who are just getting started to meet the broader community and perhaps make some new friends, and that’s something I’d very much like to support — particularly as there’s a lot of crossover between enthusiasm for anime and a fondness for Japanese video games and visual novels. Also speaking purely selfishly, it may also be a great opportunity for me to meet some new people who share some interests, too — and I hope it doesn’t sound too arrogant of me to say that they may find something of interest here on MoeGamer too.

If you’re a new anime or manga blogger and want to take your first steps into a very friendly and welcoming community — or just want to find some cool new blogs to read! — I encourage you to stop by Irina’s post here and get your own personal Blogwarming Party started!

Thank you for your time, dear reader. Normal business will resume later today — and expect more Community posts like this alongside the site’s main articles in the near future!
