I, uh, made a small mistake with recording this one in that I accidentally deleted my whole commentary while I was cleaning up my videos folder, so I ended up having to record a new commentary “after the fact”, as it were. I don’t think it came out too badly.

It’s Da Ji, Orochi’s strategist and a master of disguise. Deceiving the Coalition forces by taking on the appearance of the apparently slain Cao Cao, Da Ji seeks to take control of the battlefield on her own terms.
Nobunaga is not so easily swayed by the formidable charms of a big tiddy strategist gf, however, although he does take a bit of a kicking a couple of times before figuring out the best way to deal with the situation. Hit the jump to see how that all went.

The battles continue in Warriors Orochi as Nobunaga and friends attempt to rescue some peasants from a fate worse than death. Or just, you know, death.
I’ve been having a real blast withย Warriors Orochiย so far, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the series develops over time. The prospect of the upcomingย Warriors Orochi 4ย incorporating elements of Greek mythology is tremendously exciting to me, but I’m having fun with the Chinese and Japanese heroes in the meantime.

One subseries I’ve always been particularly curious about isย Warriors Orochi,ย an ambitious, fantastic crossover affair which initially brought together the casts ofย Dynasty Warriorsย andย Samurai Warriorsย before, in later installments, diversifying in all sorts of strange directions.

Omega Force’s Warriors (or Musou, if you prefer) is one of the longest-running, most prolific series in all of gaming. And yet it is also one of the most commonly misunderstood and misrepresented in terms of its gameplay.
Often dismissed by critics as being little more than mindless button-mashers, theย Warriorsย series has, over time and the course of more than 50 individual releases for various platforms, continued to evolve and experiment to bring us to where we are today. Not only that, it has proven to be a great way to get people interested in a number of real-world historical events such as the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history (Dynasty Warriors)ย and the Sengoku period of Japanese history (Samurai Warriors) — as well as providing its developers the opportunity to explore more creative, fantastic stories that involve large-scale conflict.
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Editionย (justย Hyrule Warriorsย hereafter), of course, falls into the latter category… but before we dive into it in detail, let’s take a look at the series as a whole and see exactly how we got here.
