The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 4 – Servant to the Gacha

A week later than originally intended, here’s the fourth episode of The MoeGamer Podcast!

We’re a week late because last weekend I’d been struck down by some sort of hideous plague that made me want to go to bed at 2pm in the afternoon and just not get up for most of the weekend. Thankfully that appears to have mostly passed! Stupid summer flu.

Chris unfortunately wasn’t available to join the discussion this week for non-illness-related reasons, so instead I’m joined by a special guest: Joe, host of EriChannel over on Twitch! Hit the jump for the episode and synopsis.

EDIT: The episode is back up under a new YouTube ID! Thanks for your patience and understanding. Hit the jump to watch/listen.

The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 3 – This Is the Game Preservation Society

Whew! This was a pain to get uploaded. Pro-tip: never put Pokemon footage in your YouTube video because it will get the damn thing blocked in all countries.

Anyway. This is the latest episode of The MoeGamer Podcast, featuring the triumphant return of Chris and a return to our usual format.

Hit the jump to see the new episode and find out more!

The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 2 – No Sex Please, We’re Valve

I’m just back from holiday and my podcasting partner in crime Chris has just departed on a trip, so it’s a short episode this time around… but an important one.

If you’ve been paying attention to social media today, you’ll doubtless have seen that there has been some concern over Valve’s apparent change of policy over adult content… or at least titles that have ties to adult content.

Hit the jump for the full episode.

The MoeGamer Podcast: Pilot Episode – Sega, Sega, Sega

I’ve been talking about doing some sort of podcast with my good friend and longtime supporter Chris Caskie for some time… and last weekend we finally got around to it!

After the jump (and on YouTube), you’ll find the pilot episode of a new MoeGamer podcast that will hopefully become a semi-regular thing! How regular it is will depend on the schedules Chris and I keep and whether I can get things edited reasonably quickly, but we’re looking at bi-weekly or monthly rather than weekly right now.

We hope you enjoy the show — we had a blast recording it, I had great fun editing it (even if it took all evening) and we’re already looking forward to recording more!

The MoeGamer GameCast: Episode 10 – Season 1 Finale

In this week’s GameCast… the truth about Penelope! If you can prove your worth, that is…

This episode features a quiz that you need to beat in order to get the best ending. Rather than having to get full marks as with Midori’s JRPG quiz from Episode 3, however, in this case you have a bit more margin for error. All the answers can be found somewhere on this site. Good luck!

This is the last episode of the GameCast for a little while, since I’m starting a new full-time job tomorrow and don’t yet have an idea of how busy and/or tired it’s going to keep me. Once I have a better grasp of the situation, expect a second season of the GameCast if it’s practical for me to produce one.

Original music, as ever, is the work of MusMus, and the awesome retro font is by Style64. Other music in this episode remains the copyright of its respective owners. There’s a bunch of pieces from a variety of different games in this one.

The MoeGamer GameCast: Episode 9 – Garden of Memories, Part 2

In this week’s GameCast, Midori, Yumi and I continue our exploration of the Garden of Memories, and I share some further recollections that are important to me.

Original music, as ever, is the work of MusMus, and the awesome retro font is by Style64. Other music in this episode remains the copyright of its respective owners; you’ll also hear a piece from former Cover Game Megadimension Neptunia V-II as part of this episode.

The MoeGamer GameCast: Episode 8 – Garden of Memories, Part 1

The search for Penelope is on as Midori, Yumi and I find ourselves in the “Garden of Memories”, attempting to hunt down our elusive cat-eared friend.

This is a fairly short episode as I’ve been horribly ill over the last few days and barely able to get out of bed! Hopefully you’ll still enjoy what’s there, though, and this narrative thread will continue over the course of the next few episodes to add a bit of variety.

Original music, as ever, is the work of MusMus, and the awesome retro font is by Style64. Other music in this episode remains the copyright of its respective owners; you’ll also hear a theme from the wonderful Katawa Shoujo by NicolArmarfi and CplCrud as part of this episode.

The MoeGamer GameCast: Episode 7 – Missing

In this episode of the GameCast, Midori, Yumi and I talk about music, and Plot Happens.

Original music, as ever, is the work of MusMus, and the awesome retro font is by Style64. Other music in this episode remains the copyright of its respective owners.

The MoeGamer GameCast: Episode 6 – ZAWAZAWAZAWA

In this episode of the GameCast, we talk about the prevalence of “auteurs” in Japanese game development, NepNep in VR and one of the bleakest anime series I’ve ever seen.

Music, as ever, is the work of MusMus, and the awesome retro font is by Style64. Other music in this episode remains the copyright of its respective owners — though Kaiji fans may be interested to know that the complete soundtrack is available via archive.org: CD1 and CD2.

As I’ve said previously, if/when I have a bit more money floating around, I’ll sort out some proper hosting for browser versions so you don’t have to go through this process.
