Good evening! It’s nearly the end of the weekend, and I feel like I’ve spent a significant proportion of it asleep. Evidently I needed it.
Anyway, that hasn’t stopped me from making a few videos and playing some more Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, so it all worked out fine in the end.

Good evening folks! I slept in until lunchtime and then spent the rest of the day editing a new podcast episode, which will be making its way into your ears and eyes tomorrow. It’s a good ‘un!
While that renders — and while I decide whether or not I want to eat the Rustlers burger in my fridge having consumed a sufficient quantity of Starburst to make me feel a little queasy — I figured it was as good a time as any to do the weekly roundup.

Full article coming later today, but this is super-important to acknowledge: the commercial, mainstream outlet Nintendo Life was kind enough to give me the opportunity to write about qureate’s new point-and-click puzzle adventure game for Nintendo Switch, Prison Princess.
This is noteworthy because it marks a substantial shift in the site’s editorial policy: they’re now keen to specifically seek out specialist writers for more niche-interest games such as shoot ’em ups or games with provocative ecchi content, rather than passing them to staff writers less familiar with the cultural context or background of such works. This will hopefully lead to fewer situations where there’s a huge disconnect between a critic and the target audience of a particular game. And hopefully more articles from people like me and their new, frighteningly knowledgeable shmup specialist!
I’d like to heartily thank Damien McFerran from Nintendo Life for the kind opportunity to write about this game — and for the site’s admirable new approach. And I would please encourage you, dear reader, to support this change in outlook: it’s exactly the sort of thing we need to see happening on more mainstream sites. It deserves rewarding.

Happy Sunday evening everyone! One of the worst parts of the week, when you know Monday is just around the corner, thereby meaning that you can’t really justify staying up all night playing video games or something.
Still, if you want something to take your mind off the impending drudgery of the working week, I’ve got you covered as always. There’s been some really great stuff this week that I’ve been delighted and excited to cover, so I hope you enjoy them.

Happy weekend to you all! I hope you’re doing well. I’m having real trouble shaking off the illness I came down with in my week off; if anything it’s got worse.
Still, at least I’m not so incapacitated that I can’t enjoy some games or write about them, so I should be thankful for small mercies! And I had the foresight to get a whole bunch of videos prepared during that week off, so that hasn’t been a worry either. Hooray!

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I’ve just enjoyed my final lie-in of my week off from the day job… not looking forward to going back to getting up when the first digit on the clock is 6. Ugh.

Good afternoon. I am ill. I am not happy about this, particularly as I’m just at the start of a week off from the day job… but such is life, I guess.
Hopefully I’ll shake it off before too long — I’m getting plenty of rest this weekend rather than trying to cram my time full of recording videos and whatnot. I have all of the coming week to do that, after all!

Happy new year! It’s time for the first weekly roundup of 2020. Truly, we are living in the future. Except now it’s the present. And we don’t have flying cars and everything is shit. Except for video games and visual novels, of course!
Anyway, that aside, it’s nice to have made it through the turbulence to everyone’s routine that is the holiday season and get back to relative normality… even if that does mean getting back to the grindstone of the day job. There’s some exciting stuff coming up on MoeGamer, though, as I’ve talked about elsewhere, and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to some seriously meaty projects.

A very merry new year to all of you! I hope you had at least vaguely tolerable celebrations last night and that you aren’t suffering too much today.
I had a nice quiet one; I’ve never been one for big parties or anything, so the prospect of being out and about on a night where people are particularly inclined to get drunk and obnoxious was not in the slightest bit appealing. So I sat at home with my cats playing games, recording a few videos and enjoying a Chinese takeaway. Perfect.
Anyway, what with it being the first day of the new year, now seems like a prime time to talk about my intentions for the year coming up, so let’s do just that after the jump!
