The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 33 – The End of the Year Show

It’s the last-but-one day of the year, so what better way to round it off than to enjoy a couple of hours of chilled conversation between me and my good buddy Chris Caskie of MrGilderPixels?

The MoeGamer Podcast is available in several places. You can subscribe to my channel on YouTube to stay up to date with both the video versions of the podcast and my weekly videos (including the Atari A to Z retro gaming series); you can follow on Soundcloud for the audio-only version of the podcast; you can subscribe via RSS to get the audio-only version of the podcast in your favourite podcast app; or you can subscribe via iTunes and listen on Spotify. Please do at least one of these if you can; it really helps us out!

Or you can just hit the jump to watch or listen to today’s episode right here on MoeGamer.

In today’s episode, we follow the usual three-part format, kicking off with some of the recent news. It’s been fairly quiet over the holiday season, but there’s still a few bits and pieces on the docket, including a new Siralim title, a new Trails game, disappointing Xenosaga news and more.

We then crack on with some discussion of what we’ve been playing recently. Chris has been enjoying 8BitDo’s M30 wireless gamepad, inspired by the classic six-button Mega Drive controller, while both of us have been having a blast with River City Girls — watch out for a writeup on that in the new year. I’ve also been playing Saboteur! and Saboteur II: Avenging Angel, which are remakes of classic ZX Spectrum titles — again, full writeups on those coming quite soon.

Finally, the main topic of the day is what we’re looking forward to playing in 2020 — not necessarily the games that are coming out in 2020, but the games we’re finally looking forward to covering. I’ve already talked about Unlimited Sagaof course, but what else is on my mind? Well, you’ll have to listen to find out!

As always, thanks for all your support. Don’t forget to subscribe on any of the services the show is available on — and if you have a moment to leave us a review on Spotify and/or iTunes, that really helps us out, too. Enjoy the show, and we’ll see you in the new year!

Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed this article. I’ve been writing about games in one form or another since the days of the old Atari computers, with work published in Page 6/New Atari User, PC Zone, the UK Official Nintendo Magazine, GamePro, IGN, USgamer, Glixel and more over the years, and I love what I do.
