Around the Network

Whew! Another busy week, and I feel like it’s only going to get busier as we get closer and closer to Christmas.

Still, one thing many of us have to look forward to is the impending release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Switch… you just, uh, might want to stay off Twitter for a bit, as those bloody dataminers are at it again. If you want to enjoy some pleasant surprises from the game as actual surprises, consider yourself warned!

Another thing you have to look forward to that dataminers can’t ruin is the continued light and joy my work here and on YouTube undoubtedly brings to your life. So let’s take a moment to recap what you might have missed out on this week!

Sunday Driving: I’m At My Limit – I reach the end of my tether (or, more accurately, the limit of my skills) in Auto Modellista, so after a few failed attempts, we’ll be moving on to something new for the next episode!

PS2 Essentials: TimeSplitters 2 – Possibly my favourite first-person shooter of all time, TimeSplitters 2 remains extremely solid and enjoyable even today. Get some friends over and get blastin’.

I Want Your Help with the MoeGamer Awards 2018! – Yes, I do. Check out this post for a bit of background on what The MoeGamer Awards are all about… and to find out how you can help out!

Warriors Wednesday: Samurai Warriors vs Orochi – We reach the grand finale of the Samurai campaign in Warriors Orochi! That means it’s time to fight Orochi for the first time. Feel the fear! Then do it anyway!

Waifu Wednesday – I haven’t played a Soulcalibur game for a while, but Kotaku did a really terrible article about Ivy Valentine earlier in the week, so I thought I’d show how it’s done. Also, y’know, Ivy’s a popular character with good reason. And it’s not just those reasons!

Wii Essentials: Wii Play: Motion – You might not expect one of Nintendo’s Wii [x] series to be a showcase title for an all-star lineup of Japanese devs, but that’s exactly what Wii Play: Motion is. Don’t write this one off just because it’s “a minigame compilation” — there’s some seriously cool stuff going on here.

New Game Plus: Kirie Eleison – We continue our playthrough of Project Zero’s postgame by clearing the Mission mode for the first time, including a somewhat anticlimactic rematch against the game’s final boss.

Wii Essentials: Ghost Squad – At the time of writing, I’m just exporting the next episode of The MoeGamer Podcast, which features an extensive discussion of lightgun shooters. I thought I’d get myself back in the mood with a Wii game I’d never tried before… and man, is it ever a whole lot of fun!

Two more interesting curiosities for you today: Mastertronic’s Ninja, an intriguing blend of action-adventure, beat ’em up and fighting game; and Interphase, an abstract 3D polygonal… thing that involves hacking your way through electronic systems so your geisha-esque girlfriend can infiltrate a building and steal back your dreams. Ah, how I miss the ’90s.

Don’t forget if you want to follow Atari A to Z without all the other stuff here on MoeGamer, you can do so by subscribing here.

As always, thank you so much for your continued support — your views, your comments, your shares, your likes and all that good stuff are always very much appreciated.
