Around the Network

Hello! Happy Sunday. I was out all day yesterday so I didn’t have time to put together this weekly roundup. Apologies. If you care.

This week has been another fun week, though I’ve still been recovering from my cold and my wife has still been at home recovering from her surgery, so neither of us have quite been operating at full efficiency. I still managed to find some stuff to write about however, so yay for that.

Hit the jump for the weekly roundup of the week’s articles and videos from around my network of sites.

Sunday Driving: Fear the Mighty Yaris – My trusty Toyota Yaris in Auto Modellista gets me through more races than a speedy Supra. Will it be able to get me through the whole game? Probably not, but I’ll give it a damn good go.

The MoeGamer Podcast: Episode 12 – Halloween Horrors – Chris and I take some time to discuss our differing attitudes towards horror games as well as the usual talk about gaming news and what we’ve been playing recently. Hit up this link for all the subscription links you might want or need for the show.

Project Zero 3: Sleep, Priestess, Lie in Peace – The third installment of the Project Zero series is a vastly expanded game from its predecessors in terms of duration, and it also takes an interesting new structure based around dreams. It’s somewhat lesser known than the first two installments but well worth your time.

Warriors Wednesday: Mistakes Were Made – You didn’t think last week’s run of good luck was going to last, did you? No, of course it wasn’t. Still, we learn a good few things about what to expect from some late game battles and get to “ooh” and “aah” at some interior environments. In a Warriors game? Surely not!

Witchfu Wednesday: Patchouli Knowledge – It was Halloween, so I wanted to find a witchy waifu. This seemed like an ideal opportunity to get to know one of the many lovely girls from the Touhou Project.

Shmup Essentials: Murasaki – An interesting pickup of mine from Playism’s recent sale on Steam was Murasaki, a curious puzzle-shooter hybrid that is all about chain reactions and explosions.

Dragalia Lost: Kindness and Captivity – Dragalia Lost players have yet another event to get their teeth into, this time a wind-element raid against the mighty Hypnos with some lovely rewards on offer for those brave enough to take up the challenge…

Atari A to Z

This week’s videos explore Kid Grid, an Amidar clone for the Atari 8-bit, and F-15 Strike Eagle for the Atari ST, an early installment in MicroProse’s substantial portfolio of jet fighter simulators… and one of Sid “Civilization” Meier’s earliest projects.

As always, thanks for your continued support of MoeGamer and my other projects! It’s always a delight to see people enjoying and sharing my work.

$5 Patrons, I’ll get a new wallpaper out to you within the next couple of days! As noted in the intro, life has been… hectic recently, but I’ll make some time for it very soon!
