Pete Plays Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God

Hi folks, just a quickie to announce that from this point onwards, you can expect (hopefully) regular Let’s Play videos on Saturdays and Sundays.

This is in addition to MoeGamer’s midweek content, which I’m aiming to support with video versions of articles as you may have seen me experimenting with throughout the latter half of this week.

Head on over to my YouTube page to subscribe now, and hit the jump to check out the first two episodes of Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry Goda game I’ve been meaning to check out for ages — and which has recently had an excellent PC port!

Special thanks to Ross from Ghostlight who provided me with a review copy for Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God for PC. I’ve actually had a Vita cartridge of this knocking around for ages but have somehow never gotten around to it.

As a Japanese take on the roguelike genre — or perhaps it’s more accurate to say a Mystery Dungeon-like — Sorcery Saga is an ideal game to give the Let’s Play treatment, as playing it is an interesting process of discovery and experimentation. In true Idea Factory and Compile Heart tradition, there’s a decent amount of narrative exposition at the beginning to introduce you to the world and characters, but from thereon it’s on to the dungeon delving!

I’m really keen to grow my YouTube presence as well as posting things here on MoeGamer, so it’d really help me out if you subscribe to my channel and do the other things YouTubers bug you for like hitting the Like button and leaving a comment. I hope you enjoy the playthrough — check back next Saturday and Sunday for the continuation of the series!

  1. The very first PlayStation Vita title I got. It is very easy compared to most Mystery Dungeon titles (finished it in 3 days), but enjoyable in its own right.

  2. I thought some of the controls/UI (whatever the term was) were “clumsy” but overall I enjoyed the game. I hope you like it too.

  3. I am in! Believe it or not I am playing through the postgame right now. It is an incredibly chill roguelike that has an adorable aesthetic. Subscribed and cant wait to watch!
